Hello everyone! I’m Hyowon Gu, co-director of the FSI Global High School Union!
Recently I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday, which made me realize something: I am incredibly blessed in many ways, including my family, friends, and my passions to strive for an altruistic future.
I also had another thought: is there a way I could share my blessings with others, so that it can be more meaningful? That’s when I thought of creating a fundraiser through the FSI GHSU(formerly TNKR). FSI speaks for advocacy, for individuals to find their own voice through helping North Korean refugees through various ways. The Global High School Union is an extension of that, a highly committed group composed of 140 highschool members that strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment for an altruistic cause.
Let me introduce myself. I am a rising Junior in highschool, and I am interested in the cutting edge of technology, namely in virtual reality and artificial intelligence, and how humans might benefit from those technologies. My goals and actions have always converged towards this one point, how we might use technology for a better cause to help people that are disadvantaged in society, that are sorely in need of a voice. As part of an organization that embodies those values, I invite you all to imbue meaning to our birthdays, using a very special day for us all to bring joy and help work for a good cause.
Your donations will go directly towards FSI operations, helping finance our activities for a good cause, and towards helping the Global High School Union better support those in need.
Thank you!
